INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS

The scholarships are divided throughout our three semester intakes each year (Winter, Summer, Fall). Applications will be considered based on academics, community involvement, referee/reference letters and statement of interest.

New students will receive application details along with their electronic Letter of Acceptance. The International Entrance Scholarship application form and details are located within the Welcome Package linked in the acceptance email. Scholarships are competitive and not all scholarship applicants will receive a scholarship.

*Student must maintain a minimum average of 75% in order to be eligible for renewal.

The scholarship review committee currently welcomes students to submit their applications for the January 2019 intake. Please follow the deadlines listed above. We thank all students who applied, but are only able to communicate directly with the successful applicants.

BACHELOR DEGREE SCHOLARSHIPS

Bachelor's Degree scholarships are available to students coming directly from high school/secondary school studies, who are non-transfer students (i.e. haven't attended college or university, or studied in Humber's EAP program), and are unlimited in quantity.

Humber awards degree scholarships automatically to graduating high school students based on academic achievement.

Bachelor's Degree Scholarships for EAP Graduates

Graduates of Humber's English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program with a GPA of 80% or higher in Level 8, who are applying for a Bachelor’s Degree, will be eligible to receive a one-time non-renewable scholarship of $1,500.

AWARDS for EAP GRADUATES

Graduates of Humber’s English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Certificate Program (Level 8) are also eligible for awards.

These awards are based on the following criteria:

  • GPA
  • Significant improvement in all areas of English language development, and
  • Characteristics of respect, support, and cross-cultural communication within the Humber community.

These awards are only available to EAP graduates who have begun a degree program at Humber College. EAP graduates do not need to apply for these awards. Faculty nominates recipients each fall semester, and the recipients are notified in November.

This annual award is presented to an International Student graduate of the English for Academic Purposes program who 1) achieved a high overall GPA over at least one semester, 2) entered a Diploma course at Humber College, 3) exhibited the characteristics of respect, support, and cross-cultural communication in their interactions within the Humber community

Award Name

Academic Excellence Award in Teaching English as a Second Language

Award Criteria

This annual award is presented to the graduate of the Teaching English as a Second Language Post-Graduate Program who has demonstrated both academic excellence in their course requirements and behavior in practicum settings that best reflect those of a certified TESL professional.
