“As an international alumnus, I feel enabled to take on big projects because my studies at Humber showed me that there are no limits to what creativity can’t accomplish.”

Ever since I arrived in Canada, I have felt at home and I have not had a single day of regret. Humber College was highly recommended to me by a family member and I wanted a program that would complement my management skills. I had one of the best instructors at Humber who brought real-life examples and exercises when teaching the concepts that required our analytical and creative skills.

As for my job experience, I landed a role as a marketing intern at the International Centre and my ambitions and goals steered me into a different direction once I started there. As part of my internship, I had the opportunity to participate in the Social Media Summer Program, and it was the best thing that ever happened to me. It allowed me to employ my 10+ years’ experience in creative design to learn content creation, storytelling, and to study how social media influencers went from working at different companies to starting their own brand. In addition, learning concepts on audience personas and branding through this program allowed me to see how my previous experience in fashion design can be applied to the world of digital marketing. This propelled me to start my own company and now I work as a contractor for the International Centre at Humber College. In this role, I am developing and implementing the Humber Global newsletter, blog, and social media channels. This work aims at communicating the efforts, initiatives, and global partnerships that are an integral part in implementing Humber’s Internationalization Strategy.

As an international alumnus, I feel enabled to take on big projects because my studies at Humber showed me that there are no limits to what creativity can accomplish. I am now in a place in my life where I am paid to do what I love, and my experiences at Humber helped pave my way.
