Humber English For Academic Purposes* Level 8 with 80% or higher
IELTS* (Academic) Overall 6.5 (no single score below 6.0)
TOEFL* 580 paper or 88 IBT (no single test below 22)
Pearson Language Test Evaluation* (PTE) Minimum score: 60–64

All transcripts must be translated into English and notarized. 

*Scores for the standardized English language tests may vary by program    and are only valid for a 24-month period from the date of testing to the   start date of the program.

Program Overview
The Global Business Management program at the IGS prepares learners for variety of business management careers. No business experience is required.
In the second year, learners choose a specialization stream. These streams include:

  • Financial Planning
  • Human Resources Management
  • International Business Management
  • Marketing Management

Note: Stream availability depends on the term in which second year is started.

Work-Integrated Learning
In the fourth semester learners complete a work placement, aligned with their specialized stream choice (minimum 320 hours required). The placement is designed to give them the hands-on, practical work experience that employers seek.

Supply Chain Management

2

Program Overview
The Supply Chain Management program at the IGS provides learners with grounding in business and global supply chain issues. Learners learn to research and analyze the marketplace; develop demand forecasts; evaluate suppliers’ capabilities to deliver; utilize technology such as Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing (SAP); develop aggregate and master production plans/schedules; and analyze business processes.
Learners also gain competency in industry-standard theories, methods, and techniques including Six Sigma, Total Quality Management, Just-in-Time and Lean..


The IGS community and industry course provides IGS learners with the career-focused skill development and community and industry connections crucial for launching careers in Canada.

Industry Connections
Learners gain the hands-on experience that industry demands with a 320-hour placement. Placements may be completed on a part time basis throughout the academic year, or full-time during the term immediately following the program.

Project Management

Program Overview
The project management program at the IGS provides a sought-after skill set to help everyone from new graduates to experienced professionals advance in their careers .
Learners gain the skills to move a project through conceptualization, initiation, planning, execution, control and closing. Learners become proficient in cutting edge technology and adaptive/agile approaches to project management. Electives cover areas such as public sector, information technology, construction and strategic portfolio management.

The IGS community and industry course provides IGS learners with the career-focused skill development and community and industry connections crucial for launching careers in Canada.

Industry Connections
In the final semester, learners complete an industry-sponsored capstone project , which they showcase to employers at an exhibition event. Graduates of the program satisfy the education requirements necessary to apply for either the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) or the Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification.

Marketing Management

Program Overview
The Marketing Management program at the IGS is a comprehensive program covering topics such as digital marketing, branding, product development, advertising, distribution, sales, communications, planning, budgeting and strategy.
Learners receive advanced training in transferable skills , including creative problem solving, communications, decision-making, goal-setting and time management. With a highly practical focus, learners will learn from a combination of real-world case studies and cutting-edge marketing techniques.

Work-Integrated Learning
Learners gain industry experience with a 160-hour work placement and are supported to find placements at leading marketing or advertising firms, or within the marketing departments of brands. Placements can be part-time during the academic year or full-time once classes are complete.

Starting in Fall 2021 this program will have a third semester consisting of the work placement.

Insurance Management – Property and Casualty

Program Overview
The Insurance Management – Property and Casualty program at the IGS prepares learners for entry level management career paths in the large and growing property and casualty insurance industry. Learn the fundamentals of the industry and its three main functional areas – underwriting, loss adjusting and agency/brokerage. Gain transferable skills in business communications, computer applications, insurance accounting and metrics, marketing, sales and customer service, project management and leadership.

Work-Integrated Learning
Get hands-on experience with a 160 hour work placement. Placements can be completed on a part-time basis throughout the academic year, or full-time immediately after the program.

Program Overview
The Research Analyst program at the IGS focuses on the theoretical, practical, and ethical underpinnings of research. Learners are equipped with the statistical, technical and professional skills necessary to perform applied research in various public and private sector settings. Learners focus on all major aspects of the research process including research design, information retrieval and evaluation, data collection, analysis and interpretation, and the preparation and presentation of research findings.

Work-Integrated Learning
The IGS Industry and Community Connector Hub provides international graduate learners with opportunities to meaningfully engage with a broad community and industry network through events, project work and a mentorship program

Program Overview
The Human Resources Management program at the IGS covers key functions  including employment law, labour relations, training and development, pension and benefits, occupational health and safety, compensation, performance management, recruitment and selection, and human resources planning.  

The first of its kind in Canada, our program is in high demand because it prepares learners to work in all areas of human resources

Work-Integrated Learning
Get human resources management work experience with a short-term or long-term work placement (minimum 160 hours required).

Financial Planning

Program Overview
The Financial Planning program at the IGS is a pathway to careers in the financial services industry including banks, investment firms, insurance companies, and financial planning firms. Learners gain skills in a broad range of business and financial services and can earn the licenses and designations that financial services institutions desire in the professionals they hire.

The IGS community and industry course provides IGS learners with the career-focused skill development and community and industry connections crucial for launching successful careers in Canada.

Work-Integrated Learning
Gain first-hand experience in the financial services industry with a four-week work placement taking place either part time during the program or full-time at the end of the program.
Starting in Fall 2021 this program will have a third semester consisting of the work placement.

Enterprise Software Development

Program Overview
The Enterprise Software Development program at the IGS provides advanced skills and knowledge to those currently employed in the information technology and related fields, or graduates of information technology or computer studies programs.
Learners will select their pathway through elective courses ranging from software development, web and mobile application development to big data, business intelligence and database administration. Learners will then apply these concepts in various hands-on activities and enterprise projects.

Industry Connections
In their final semester, learners complete a capstone industry project supervised by an IGS industrial partner. Through a range of Capstone showcasing events, learners will showcase their portfolios and capstone project to prospective employers.

Learners have access to job search assistance including a course on developing career goals, resumes, cover letters and a LinkedIn profile, preparing for interviews, and developing practical strategies to find career-related employment.

4

English Language Proficiency. Bachelor’s degree from any discipline, OR advanced diploma or diploma in a related field.

Program Overview
The Business Insights and Analytics program at the IGS provides learners with practical, in-demand skills in business; database management and programming; data analysis and interpretation; and decision-making and communications. It consists of a common platform of 21 core courses, , plus 3 specialization stream courses in either Marketing or Operations.

Note: Students starting in September or January have a one semester break between second and third semester.

Program Overview
The Information Technology Solutions program at the IGS prepares learners without an IT background to enter the IT industry. The first semester includes an introduction to software development, database concepts and web development. In subsequent semesters, through elective courses, learners engage in advanced IT topics including database development and administration, business intelligence, big data, software development, web development, and mobile application development.

The IGS community and industry course provides IGS learners with the career-focused skill development and community and industry connections crucial for launching successful careers in Canada.

Industry Connections
In the final semester, learners participate in a capstone industry project supervised by one of Humber’s industrial partners
