Toronto Metropolitan University and Humber College Introduce Pathway to Achieve Two Post-Graduate Credentials in Two Years*

Beginning in January 2023, students accepted into specific Ontario Graduate Certificate programs at Humber, including international students, will be eligible to transition into the one-year transdisciplinary Master of Digital Media (MDM) program upon graduating from their program at Humber.

Students will be able to complete the Masters degree in either two or three years, depending on the length of their Humber program.

This graduate degree will prepare students for leadership roles in digital media by developing proficiencies in App creation, digital media strategy, gamification, augmented and virtual reality, physical computing, robotics, machine learning and more.

Master of Digital Media

The Creative School’s Master of Digital Media is an intensive 12-month professional program built for digital media innovators. Participants of this program are immersed in a comprehensive study of business, art, design and technology intended to stimulate entrepreneurial and 21st-century leadership skills for real-world challenges.

1. Can I apply now for future years?

No. Students can only apply for the term (Fall start or Winter start) they would like to be enrolled in. If a student declines their acceptance, they must apply again.

2. What is the cost of the TMU degree?

Below is the program cost based on the 2023 - 2024 academic year:
The cost for Canadian citizens and permanent residents: $17,641.85 (Breakdown)
The cost for International students: $26,379.99 (Breakdown)

4.When should I apply? (for both '24 and '25 intakes)

Admissions (Domestic & International) for Fall 2024 are open.
The Winter 2025 applications will open as of June 2024.

5. Are there scholarships available from TMU?

6. My IELTS may expire - will TMU accept it?

You must have a valid English Language Proficiency score upon application to the program. If it expires after the application was submitted and you receive an offer of admission, one condition is to provide an updated score. Please contact the Graduate Admissions Office directly at grdadmit@ryerson.ca for more information.

7. If I'm accepted at TMU do I have to start immediately? Can I defer my admission?

The Master of Digital Media does not offer deferment to subsequent intakes. Should an applicant decline an offer of admission, they will be required to go through the application process again.

8. Is a gap between studies allowed?

Yes, TMU will allow a gap between studies.

International students - please note the following:

  • If you plan to take a gap between two programs, please consult an International Student Advisor or Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) directly to ensure you will continue to comply with your study permit conditions.
  • If you are planning to apply for your Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) upon completion of both your Humber and TMU programs, please consult an International Student Advisor or Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) directly to determine whether a gap between your studies will impact your future PGWP application.

9. My program at Humber is 2 years. Do I need to complete both years before I can transfer to TMU?

Yes.
