Winter is coming: How Humber tackles the snow

Have you ever seen snow? Do you wonder about how cold Canada really gets in the winter? Don’t worry! Snow in the winter is almost inevitable, but you’ll quickly figure out how to stay warm and have fun (first: buy a good winter jacket and a pair of boots!).

At Humber College, there are lots of fun ways to participate in outdoor winter activities that you may not have tried before.

Skiing and Snowboarding
Some of the most popular events are the skiing and snowboarding trips that take place in January and February. This is a great opportunity for you to experience these popular Canadian  sports in a safe and fun environment. The trip includes a lesson to prepare you for your adventure on the hills, and, if you get cold, there’s hot chocolate to warm you up!

Snowshoeing
Borrow snowshoes from the Humber Arboretum, and experience the beauty of Mother Nature with a snowshoe tour through the parkland that surrounds Humber’s North Campus.

Winter Camping Trip
Looking for a unique way to spend your reading week? Give this three-day winter camping trip a try! Transportation, equipment, food, guides and games are all included.

Niagara Wine Tour
One of the most beautiful places in Canada is also home to the world’s largest icewine producers. You can celebrate this sweet treat at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Icewine Festival.

Be sure to ask for more information at the International Centre and check our Facebook page for more updates if you want to give these events a try!
