Humber Earth Week: Lakeshore Campus Clean Up Day

International students and International Centre staff offered some time out of their busy agendas to help clean Humber’s Lakeshore Campus last Tuesday, March 29th. This event was part of Humber Earth Week, promoted by the Humber Sustainability team, with the aim of creating awareness of environmental issues, such as transportation alternatives (Smart Commute), recycling and climate change.

In total, there were 56 persons participating (a 27% increase from 2015) – 18 employees and 38 students (a 32% increase from last year’s event). This crew collected 61 bags of garbage from Lakeshore Campus, an increase of 45% from 2015.

“I was proud to see so much enthusiasm amongst our international student body. Our team was certainly the largest at Lakeshore, which is a real demonstration of leadership in our global community” – Matthew McDonald, International Student Advisor
