Whether you’re a current student or an alumnus of the IGS, we have many opportunities for you to develop and hone your career skills, engage with industry and successfully launch your career in Canada or abroad.
You can connect with an IGS Career Planner for personalized coaching and support on developing a holistic career plan exploring your strengths, interests and identifying clear career objectives as you progress through to graduation. In partnership with your academic program, you also have the support of your Faculty Placement Advisor to help you land your perfect work-integrated learning (WIL) opportunity.
The Career Mentorship Program (CMP) is an opportunity for you to learn from industry professionals in your field of study and explore your career prospects through mentorship. The CMP allows you to further develop your career skills, expand your network and increase your opportunities for employment.
Building relationships, fostering inclusivity, and establishing community and industry connections are crucial to your success at Humber and beyond. The CIE course supports the development of industry-focused skills and mindsets such as intercultural collaboration and strategic problem-solving. Building self-awareness through personal reflection and teamwork, you will be encouraged to take risks in authentic settings, set goals and create action plans to help you sustain meaningful careers in Canada and abroad.
The ICHub runs workshops, information sessions, career coaching, advising and planning, and a multitude of industry events throughout the semester all to support you with your career and life plans as you transition to work and life in Canada. Industry events include campus recruitment, industry meets, lunch and learns, and opportunities to hear from guest speakers on industry relevant topics. Please watch out for our career and industry engagement events regularly for opportunities to network with IGS industry partners, learn about employment opportunities, develop your career plans and prepare for your future careers.
All ICHub services and support are available through the MyIGS Journey Portal. There you’ll find training and events, appointments and a number of resources to help guide you through career development goals.
On campus, we are in the Learnings Commons, on the 4th floor of the IGS, Monday to Friday during regular business hours.
