Student Profile | Darshik Jayesh

My degree in Mass Media from Mumbai University helped me explore the creative process of the advertising industry. It also gave me the chance to work with big clients such as Coca-Cola and McCain Foods, but I wanted to learn more.I decided to move to Toronto for the vast career opportunities and also for all the rights I could enjoy as a gay man.

In 2018, I started the postgraduate program in Marketing Management at Humber and later enrolled into the postgraduate certificate in Advertising Media Management with the drive to learn and understand all the aspects of the marketing industry.

At Humber, I had the opportunity to work on some really exciting projects, including working with real clients and conducting analytical research to achieve client needs and goals. 

My main goal now is to work as a marketing assistant and become a brand manager in the next couple of years. Recently, I got hired at Bell as a client strategy intern. Toronto has many work opportunities and I hope to soon see myself working full-time for a large company such as Bell.Humber is not only helping me achieve my career goals, but it also has some incredible resources including LGBTQ+ Resource Centre that has provided me with all the support that I needed to feel safe and included.
