Program: Bachelor, Music
Nationality: Japan – Sapporo City
Back in Japan, I joined the Jazz Club in my university. Despite my interest in graphic design I really enjoyed playing with my colleagues from the club. And that is why I took a vocalist audition at one notable bar in Tokyo and was accepted. I have been singing for almost 10 years now.
I first came to Canada through a working holiday program, and besides being a jazz vocalist in Japan, I couldn't sing in English. I started taking weekly singing private lessons at Humber College after work. As time went by, I became more and more interested in the Bachelor of Music program at Humber. One day, I sat in a first-year vocal master class and was impressed by their performance, they all were professionals. I wanted to improve. During the program we learn about the history, new technologies, production, business of music and how to become real creators and artists. I hope one day I can help to educate and develop the music culture in Japan.
