With college tuition rates on the rise and job-hunting tougher than the Hunger Games, many of us are juggling between our full-time studies and a part-time job during our time in college. As much as we want to narrow down our focus to one, never-ending bills and other needs make it impossible to leave our job.
Earlier this year, Humber representative Emily Mancuso was in Kingstown, St. Vincent to host a recruitment seminar. While there, she had the pleasure of attending a dinner hosted by the local Humber alumni association.
While studying at Humber College, I wanted to get socially involved on campus and take part in different co-curricular activities offered by the International Centre and other departments. I volunteered for four departments at Humber. I was also a Senior Connect Buddy at the International Center.
t was almost two years back when I decided to come to this beautiful country to pursue my higher education. After seeing the beautiful Lakeshore campus at Humber College, I needed no time to decide to study here. Ever since, I have enjoyed coming to college – yes, even when it was crazy cold in winter!
For 10 students in Humber's nursing, practical nursing and early childhood education--advanced studies in special needs programs, this year's Reading Week was one they'll never forget.
The students are part of an annual program that gives them the opportunity to study business in China for two years, then come to Humber for the final year of their studies.
