Name: Isa Campos
Program: Diploma - Broadcast Television/Videography
I wanted to have an international study experience and when I was searching for a country to go to, Canada seemed like the perfect option. The weather is completely different from what I was used to in Brazil, the outdoors are very scenic and I also have the opportunity to improve my English skills. Toronto being a multicultural city would give me the perfect opportunity to meet new people from all over the world.
I was looking for a program that could give me experience in “behind the-scenes” work in broadcasting, and Humber has a program in broadcast television and videography, which is everything that I wanted. My program has a work placement component and is really hands on and, in my opinion, that is the best way to learn. Through practical work, I have a better understanding about the day-to-day work in the industry. The projects that we have in the program have helped me to see that I am capable of doing anything in my field and I am learning to believe in myself. The courses gave me the skills to get the job done and now I am more confident in my capabilities. In the future, I would like to open my own production company along with some friends that I made in college.
Studying in another country can be challenging sometimes but I love that. I have made good friends from all over the world, including people from Canada, China, India and Turkey.
